Betting statistics: every settled robot bet

This is the full performance record of the robot's paper bets. Selections are recorded before kick-off and settled from public final scores, so nothing here is chosen after the fact.

Sample size: 84 settled selections. This is far too small a sample to draw conclusions from. Figures are published for transparency, not as evidence that any strategy is profitable.

One selection is one football bet the robot locked; each is staked by all four strategies, producing four strategy bets. 84 settled selections = 336 settled strategy bets. These are the same figures shown on the results history, from one shared calculation (corrected_v2).

How to read these numbers

Betting ROI is net profit divided by total staked (turnover). Bankroll return is net profit divided by the starting bankroll (capital). They are different measures and are always labelled separately here. Win rate on its own says very little: a strategy backing short prices can win most of its bets and still lose money, while one backing longer prices can win a third and be ahead.

Every figure above carries the same caveat — the settled sample is still small. No claim of profitability is made or implied.

Betting statistics FAQ

What is ROI in football betting?

Betting ROI measures profit against the money actually put at risk: net profit divided by total amount staked. €34 profit from €500 of turnover is a 6.8% betting ROI. That is a different figure from bankroll return, which divides the same €34 by the €1,000 starting bankroll (3.4%).

How to calculate betting ROI →

How is betting ROI calculated?

Betting ROI = net profit ÷ total amount staked × 100. Bankroll return = net profit ÷ starting bankroll × 100. BetBuddy reports both separately and never uses "ROI" to mean bankroll return.

Is a high win rate always profitable?

No. Backing heavy favourites can produce a 70% win rate and still lose money, while a 40% win rate at prices above 3.00 can be profitable. Price and win rate must be read together.

Reading betting statistics →

Why are odds important when analysing win rate?

The price sets the break-even win rate: at 2.00 you need 50%, at 1.80 you need about 55.6%, at 3.00 about 33.3%. Any win rate has to be judged against that threshold.

How should historical betting results be evaluated?

Look at the sample size first, then profit, ROI, win rate against average price, and maximum drawdown. Small samples say very little, however good they look.
