Responsible Gambling

BetBuddy exists to make football betting analysis transparent and measurable. It is not here to persuade anyone to bet more, bet faster, or bet money they do not have. This page explains the risk honestly.

BetBuddy is an analytics platform, not a bookmaker

BetBuddy tracks odds movement, applies statistical models and publishes the outcome of its selections. It operates in paper mode: it does not place bets, does not hold funds, does not accept wagers and is not connected to any bookmaker account. Every stake shown on the site is simulated.

Any real bet you place is your own decision, made with your own money, at your own risk, with a bookmaker BetBuddy has no relationship with.

Betting involves real financial risk

Betting is not investing and it is not a source of income. Losing runs are a normal, expected feature of even a well-modelled approach, and they can be long. A strategy with a positive tracked record can still lose money over any given week, month or season.

Only ever stake money you can afford to lose completely without it affecting your rent, bills, food, debts or the people who depend on you. Never bet with borrowed money or credit.

Past performance does not guarantee future results

BetBuddy publishes its complete tracked record on the results and performance history page precisely so that it can be judged honestly. That record describes what already happened. It is not a forecast, not a promise, and not a guarantee.

BetBuddy does not guarantee profitable outcomes and never will. Anyone in this industry who guarantees profit is not telling you the truth.

Your legal responsibilities

Gambling law differs from country to country and sometimes between regions of the same country. You are responsible for complying with the law where you live, including any licensing, advertising or taxation rules that apply to you.

You must be at least 18, or the minimum legal gambling age in your jurisdiction if that is higher. BetBuddy is not intended for anyone under that age.

Practical guidance

  • Decide a budget before you start, and treat it as a spending limit, not a target to win back.
  • Keep betting money separate from money you need for anything else.
  • Set deposit, loss and time limits with your bookmaker, and keep them.
  • Record what you actually staked and what actually happened, not what you remember happening.
  • Take regular breaks, and never bet to relieve stress, boredom or low mood.
  • Do not increase stakes to recover a loss. Chasing losses is how a bad day becomes a serious problem.
  • Do not bet while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • If betting has stopped being enjoyable, stop.

Warning signs

Consider getting support if you are betting more than you planned, hiding it from people close to you, borrowing money to bet, feeling anxious or irritable when you cannot bet, or betting to recover previous losses.

Where to get help

Free, confidential support is available. Most countries have a national gambling helpline, and the following services are independent of BetBuddy:

Most bookmakers also offer self-exclusion and deposit limits directly in your account settings, and national self-exclusion schemes exist in many countries.
