How BetBuddy works
BetBuddy is an automated football analysis system that runs in paper mode: it records simulated stakes so you can judge the method by its full, unedited record. Here is the whole thing in six steps, without the maths.
Step 1
It watches football markets, not fixture lists
BetBuddy starts from prices. It follows football 1X2 markets and records every price it sees, so it can tell when a price has genuinely moved rather than guessing that it might.
Step 2
A price movement makes a match a candidate
When a price falls meaningfully on real traded volume, the match becomes a candidate. Nothing is a pick yet — most candidates never become one.
Step 3
The candidate has to pass every check
Volume, how recently the price was seen, the quality of the team data, and whether the statistical models think the price is actually generous. A price below 1.80 is never eligible, whatever the other numbers say.
Step 4
Picks are locked close to kick-off
Nothing is locked more than 120 minutes before kick-off, and a locked pick keeps being re-checked. If the price drifts below the minimum before the bet is taken, the pick is dropped.
Step 5
Four staking strategies bet the same pick
Every pick is staked four ways — fixed stake, percentage of bankroll, fractional Kelly and capped recovery — each with its own separate bankroll. Same selection, same price, different stake sizes.
Step 6
Results are settled from real final scores
Once a match is confirmed final, the bet is graded from public scoreboards and written to a permanent record. Wins and losses both go in, and nothing is edited afterwards.
Paper mode, explained
BetBuddy does not place bets, hold money or connect to a bookmaker account. Every stake you see is simulated. The point of paper mode is that the record cannot be quietly curated: each strategy's bankroll moves only when a real match finishes and the bet is graded from the final score.
What you can see for free
All of the explanation and all of the history is public. You can read the detailed methodology, the four staking strategies, the settled statistics and the complete bet-by-bet history without registering. A free account adds account settings and notification preferences. A Pro subscription is what unlocks current, un-settled selections before kick-off — the past is public, the future is not.
How to judge whether it is any good
Not by a single week. Look at the sample size first, then the win rate against the average price, then the profit and loss per strategy. A small sample proves nothing in either direction, and we say so on every page that shows numbers. The honest version of this system includes its losing runs, and they are all in the history.
